Mail Online Exclusive for Mercy Ships

By Sophie Watson9 March, 2015

This week we secured a Mail Online exclusive for our client Mercy Ships, an international hospital ship charity that sails to different countries in Africa to provide free medical care to those most in need.

The team of expert surgeons, which included British volunteers, on board recently removed the largest tumour ever seen by the charity since being founded in 1978.

Sambany, the patient from Madagascar, walked for three days to visit the hospital ship which is docked in the port city of Toamasina.

The patient’s tumour had been growing out of his left cheek for 30-40 years, and weighed 16.45lbs (7.46kg). It was twice the size of his head when he visited Mercy Ships.

It is a truly remarkable story and is the perfect example of just some of the incredible, life changing work that this charity does.
